woodcut…
today i finally got to start my woodcut in printmaking. i did a couple studio prints, and i’m fairly satisfied with the results, but i wish i could get a little more ink on the wood. i think it is absorbing most of it. it’s obviously a pretty old piece of wood. maybe an additional application or two of ink might help produce a better image since the wood has had a chance to soak up...

today we started still life in my painting class. it is so much fun. i’m not used to painting like this. usually i try to be so concise with line-work and detail, it’s liberating to just be able to put some paint on paper and push it around. and we have to use a size 12 brush, which is something i’ve NEVER done before. i always use little brushes to get the detail. my experienced...
